Group winner Bodo/Glimt missed the conference league after 1-1 against Zorga Lugansk

This means that Glimt will enter the rematch for a place in the quarter-finals next year. Roma goes straight there as a collective winner.

Before the match, Glimt was one point ahead of Roma. This was the starting point for Ketel Knutsen and Glimt: the victory gave the group the win and a direct advance to the quarter-finals. A draw and a tie loss if Roma ceded points in its match against CSKA Sofia.

Roma’s 3-2 victory over CSKA Sofia meant that only three points were good enough against the Ukrainian side, who lost 3-1 at the hands of Gallimt in the corresponding settlement. It was the start of a great group game for the residents of Bodo, the highlight of which was the 6-1 thrashing of AS Roma led by Jose Mourinho at Aspmera in October.

Despite the group winner’s regression, Bodo/Glimt fought their first-ever group match in Europe without losing.

Fat chance

After 20 minutes, the situation was frightening: Tammy Abraham had already given Roma the lead, and Zhurga Lugansk’s Johor Nazarina fired a free kick from 25 meters away.

In the minutes before that, the yellow-clads dominated the match, but without creating the biggest chances.

A little half an hour later, Sondre Brunstad Fet was alone with the goalkeeper. His end went straight to the last chance, and in turn the corner became too sharp for Amal Pellegrino. Glimt’s biggest chance was in the first half.

Glimt pressed for a tie, and gave good chances to the home team. The hope for team play could have been more than half an hour before the end when Artem Hiromov came alone with Nikita Khajkin, but the goalkeeper was avoided at the last minute.

hopefull

Just over 20 minutes before the end, Glimt had hope. Substitute Wittelsen fired an inaccurate pass into the field that seemed easy to clear. Captain Vitaly Ferngdub misjudged the shot, and the ball went in the opposite direction and entered the corner.

His own goal gave little hope to Glimt who was ball-free for most of the match, but the home team shy away from the relatively harmless touches of Glimt. At the same time, Lugansk was not malicious in his attempts.

Now Glimt’s next task is to secure the league gold in the Elite Series. Bodøværingene meets Mjøndalen, while Molde is three points behind Haugesund.
