A few years ago Amazon unveiled its new product Amazon Echo. It is a cylindrical speaker continuously connected to the cloud-based AI, called Amazon Alexa. Echo listens to commands and comes up with a response or triggers a task. The more you use Echo, the more it adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary and personal preferences.
Today, to have such a digital assistant as Amazon Echo (or other similar services – Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana) has become one of the hottest trends in the mobile world. Recently, Motorola has partnered with Amazon to create Alexa Moto Mod. This Mod will turn the Moto Z phone into an Echo-like device, which will allow the phone to handle tasks, including controlling smart home devices, requesting an Uber ride, checking news, among others. Once Amazon Alexa becomes integrated into Motorola smartphones, it won’t be necessary to unlock the device.
Motorola has also announced that it’s expanding the Moto Mods ecosystem. The Power Pack Moto Mod will instantly add 50% more battery juice without extra bulk. Additional power-focused Moto Mods will include a wireless charging Moto Mod, Turbo Power Moto Mod with 8 hours more of battery life available in just 15 minutes of charging and a power adaptor. Gamepad Moto Mod, to arrive this summer, will transform the phone into a mobile gaming console by adding physical control buttons, an integrated battery and more.
