Nexpaq Inc., a company that develops a modular case for smartphones, has successfully raised $279,758 on Kickstarter, or five times above the original goal.
Although the funding campaign has finished, the development will continue in the future and will allow to add more features and possibilities to the current version of the modular case. Here is what the company said at their Kickstarter campaign page:
Although the campaign is now over, it is just the beginning for nexpaq. There is a world of possibilities for module ideas, and we want you to keep in touch and share your ideas. You will find us on Facebook, Twitter and our website.
We will be hosting our first hackathon in Melbourne, where we want our developer community to showcase their module ideas in front of our judging panel. The top 10 will have the chance to make their modules with the nexpaq team and mentors. The winner will receive a cash prize, and their module will be available for sale!
Registration opens on June 12th so make sure you check out our website: www.nexpaq.com/hackathon
Manufacturing process and further distribution will start soon.
According to the announcement on Kickstarter, Nexpaq will extend pre-orders on their website for the next two months. Smartphone users can still visit the official website and vote for the modules they want to be able to use with Nexpaq case or give their voice for the phone they desire.
