Wednesday’s Lorient meeting was expected to be a transitional stage for PSG, but the hosts had very different plans at the Stade du Moustoir.

Guests from Paris had to make do with one point, and it was only that Mauricio Pochettino’s stars got absolutely nothing.

Mauro Icardi’s equalizer came in extra time in the second half.

40 minutes into the match when Thomas Monconduit of Paris Saint-Germain was showered with a real cold shower. The Lorient player got the ball from Enzo Li Fei and hit the ball into the net across the crossbar to make it 1-0.

Upon the break, the injured Sergio Ramos was substituted in his first Ligue 1 match for Paris Saint-Germain, but it was only the start of the former Real Madrid star’s dream come true.

81 minutes in, Lorient’s Eduardo Alonso received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Four minutes later, he earned his second yellow card of the day after the referee thought the midfielder had prevented Terim Movi from moving on.

Even with ten men, the guests finally managed to find an equaliser. Achraf Hakimi hit the ball into the penalty area, and Mauro Icardi stabbed 1-1, which is also the end result.

Paris Saint-Germain still leads by 13 points at the top of the French League, after Marseille also faltered in its meeting with Reims, which ended with a 1-1 score.
