Thérèse Juhaug feels sorry for Marit Björgen: - It's almost a flaw

After nearly three years of competition, Marit Bjørgen returned to second place at Vasaloppet in March of this year. Next season there will be more long distances.

Björgen will compete in at least five competitions in this winter’s ski classics: Jizerská Padesátka, Marcialonga, Vasaloppet, Birkebeineren and Reistadløpet.

– I feel sorry for her

Björgen’s best friend for many years, Therese Juhaug (33), does not think that Björgen should collect victory after victory.

– It is not only for Marit Björgen that she wins, despite being called by what she is called and she achieved what she did. But I know it can work, says Johog NRK.

Johaug believes that the Bjørgen surname can lead to very high expectations.

– It is almost defective too. I feel sorry for her. Everyone thinks she will win one thing or the other. But there are many people who are training and developing. A strong job will be put first, the 33-year-old told NRK.

– It was almost a little awkward

Bjørgen tells the same channel that she will not dominate cross-country racing this winter, but the goal is to fight for the podium.

Bjørgen recently participated in the Trevan ice rink. There, the 41-year-old finished fifth, three minutes clear of winner Gohoge. The range was 10.3 kilometers from Sørkedalen until the steep climb to Tryvannstårnet in Oslo.

– It was almost a little awkward. I wasn’t able to join in at first, but I’ll probably meet a couple eventually. It was rough and brutal, and you were put in the right place. It was a good session, and good looking at the winter,” Björgen told NRK after the race.
