Sunday night comes the sad news of the passing of the star designer behind brands like Louis Vuitton and Off White, Virgil Abloh. He was only 41 years old.
The designer’s death was confirmed on his Instagram profile.
“We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a father, husband, son, brother and very loyal friend,” the post read.
He also appears to have left behind his wife, Shannon Abloh, and two children, Louie Abloh and Gray. She also says he leaves behind a sister, parents, friends and colleagues.
The famous designer has bravely fought for more than two years against a rare and aggressive form of cancer – something he has chosen to keep private since 2019.
His loved ones also ask for privacy to be respected while mourning and celebrating the designer’s life.

Many celebrities, who worked with the designer, are in mourning after his death. Among them is model Gigi Hadid, who shared several photos of her and Virgil Abloh.
She wrote, among other things, “I am devastated by the loss of my dear friend, but not the friend of the world, Virgil Abloh.”
She describes it in more detail in very warm words, and notes that he made everyone feel visible.
Reality star Kris Jenner also describes him as a good friend.
“I am so sad and devastated to hear of the death of our dear friend Virgil Abloh. I send all my love and prayers to his beautiful family. You are the angel of Virgil Abloh and we love you,” she wrote.
