This week it became known that Dr. Addison Montgomery will be returning to the TV series next season. The role was played by actress Kate Walsh (53 years old), and the good news was shared on the official Twitter account of the series.

Walsh appeared in the Hospital series in the first season finale as the wife of Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey (55).

She remained as a surgeon on the series for several seasons before leading the spin-off “Private Practice” from 2007 to 2013.

The actress previously stated that she loved the opportunity to once again walk the halls of Gray Sloan Hospital.

When People asked her in March if she’d be returning to “Grey’s Anatomy,” she replied, “Sure.”
