After yesterday’s announcement that iPhone 14 gets a grain-shaped cutout for the front camera in the screenDylanDKT is out again with the news. This time he brought a rumor about the iPhone Fold – the foldable smartphone of Apple that has been talked about for a long time.
Experimenting with several prototypes
Regarding Apple’s foldable phone, Dylan says that first and foremost, it’s not just one phone, but several in development. He wrote on Twitter that the company is certainly busy in these times testing many variants and prototypes with foldable screens, but they should also be skeptical or concerned about the trend with foldable phones:
Apple thinks long term
Doubts are directed to the question of whether foldable or foldable smartphones are something that will remain, or whether it is a question of technology that has become obsolete.
This is one of the reasons why Apple is reluctant to release such a phone, as according to Dylan they are interested in monitoring the market for foldable phones to see, among other things, mistakes made by competitors, and thus avoid the same ones.
It therefore appears that Apple’s overall plan is to avoid the foldable iPhone model becoming a step backward from today’s iPhone form factor.
AppleInsider also reported that well-respected Ming-Chi Kuo has announced that Apple will release its first foldable phone in 2023 or 2024 at the earliest.
