Heavy start

Opponent Macak reached the final after defeating Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. The Czechs are ranked 44th in the world and were not seeded in the tournament.

The two met for the first time at the Australian Open in 2023. The Norwegian then won 2-1 in two sets.

– He's a bold winner, for one point! shouted Sverre Krogh Sundbø on the TV 2 broadcast.

The Snarøya man played on his confidence and won the next two games, securing the group win. He then opened the second set losing and working his way to an early 3-0 lead. The Norwegian did not give up the lead and won the match 2-0.
