Everyone has mild symptoms and most of those infected have been vaccinated, according to a report by the municipality’s chief medical officer, Björn Boan.
According to the municipality of Surnadal, it has been a hectic week with infection tracking and a great testing activity with many infected people of all ages.
Nine people have been confirmed to have COVID-19 in Surnadal. Seven of these can be linked for an outbreak in the Midtigrinda Kindergarten.
– Here we are waiting for the result of the PCR test in close contact with another, the municipality wrote in a press release.

Family members and close contacts of the infected are subject to a seven-day quarantine. All those affected are undergoing a new rapid test before attending kindergarten on Monday.
A student at Surnadal Elementary and Middle School has been confirmed with a positive PCR test. The rapid test of students and adults of the relevant stage indicated that there were no longer infected persons associated with this individual case.
Seven new cases Saturday: more than 700 tests are conducted this week
Earlier in November, an elderly person was confirmed to be infected without this leading to more infections in the municipality.
Regarding the case where an employee of Surnadal Senior High School received a positive rapid test that was refused with PCR, the municipality is awaiting the result of an additional PCR test.
Buan says that over the weekend they can start a new work week with a better overview and control of the infection situation that has arisen.
At a time of increasing infection rates and stressing the health care system, we must first and foremost stay home when we have symptoms and get tested quickly. There is no reason why healthy, fully vaccinated children cannot live as usual in our municipality now. Boan wrote that it is permitted to use common sense and to assess the risks to themselves and their loved ones.
