Scientists have studied 24,000 blood samples and commented: Corona infections in the United States existed before December 2019 – much earlier than previously thought. There is also new knowledge about where the first cases occurred.

D.According to a new study, the corona virus had already appeared in the United States in December 2019, a few weeks before the first confirmed infection in January 2020. The first cases were in the U.S. states of Illinois and Massachusetts, according to Tuesday’s issue of “Medical Infections”. Diseases published by the American National Institutes of Health (NIH).

For their investigation, the scientists examined 24,000 blood samples taken from volunteers from January 2 to March 18, 2020. Antibodies to the SARS-Cov-2 virus were detected in nine of them, and they appeared only two weeks after infection.

The first positive samples came from subjects in the US states of Illinois and Massachusetts, which were taken on January 7 and 8, 2020, respectively.
