Liverpool players began preparations for Monday’s match against Manchester United, and the entire squad returned to the training ground on Thursday. Fortunately, defender Virgil van Dijk was one of those who trained fully.
After the tie with Palace, there were some disturbing rumors about the health of the Dutchman. It was said on social media that Van Dijk sustained a knee injury against Palace, and although he finished the match, it was said he would miss the season.
Fortunately, this turned out to be fake news. The center back trained fully on Thursday, and the match against Manchester United is expected to start in central defense alongside Joe Gomez, James Pearce V. athlete.
Phillips, Matip and Henderson did not train with the rest of the team
Then it was more worrying that the other goalkeeper who started the match against Palace, Nathaniel Phillips, did not train fully on Thursday. Like fellow stopper Joel Matip, he did not train with the ball, but only did the training with assistant fitness coach Jordan Fairclough.
The third player who was present on the training ground, but was not fully involved with the rest of the squad, is Jordan Henderson.
