Åslaug Marie Haga is a former leader of the Center Party, who was a representative of Parliament, Minister of Culture, Minister of Local Government and Minister of Oil and Energy.

– I look forward to leading an important organization that will bring the renewed family together into an even stronger force in the social debate, Haga says in a letter.

– It will be an exciting task to bring together the strong expertise existing in the two organizations in the best possible way, in close dialogue with all member companies. I would also like to thank Knut Kroepelien for our good cooperation in founding Fornybar Norge, and I am glad he will continue to be involved, as you say.

After the formation of the new industry organization Fornybar Norge, both Energi Norge and Norwea will be closed. Renewed Norway will be the NHO Association, as previously Energi Norge.

– good time

CEO Knut Kroepelien of Energi Norge has chosen to step down himself.

– After four exciting years as a manager, I’ve come to the conclusion that now is the time to hand over responsibility, says Kropelin.

– Åslaug Haga will be a good leader who, with his experience and ability to innovate, will lead us forward like Fornybar Norge. My priority now is to help it and all the talented colleagues in the Foundation, and to get Parliament to adopt an acceptable tax scheme for renewable energy in the fall budget, he says.

The head of Energi Norge, Finn Bjørn Ruyter, expressed his satisfaction with the election.

Al-Hajj has extensive experience in politics and administration. This will be important for the successful establishment of Fornybar Norge, where we will unite and develop two strong professional environments, says Reuter.

The background will also be important to ensuring success in energy and climate policy. This is crucial in order to reduce emissions while creating new income and jobs for Norway. The Joint Board of Directors would also like to thank Knut Kroepelien for his outstanding efforts for Energi Norge, says Ruyter.

The talks started this summer

This summer it was learned that the two organizations are considering a merger. Noroya has 116 members, while Energy Norge has 335 members.

Formerly called the National Association of Energy Companies, Energi Norge is a trade organization for a number of energy and grid companies and part of the NHO community. Norwea is particularly representative of wind and offshore wind energy players.

Renewed Norway was formed after the two organizations held extraordinary annual meetings in October.

Renewable Norway will be operational from January 1, 2023.
