A Copenhagen classic turns out to be really delicious!

Modern Art Deco meets unique history at the newly renovated Astoria Hotel.

The Astoria Hotel was designed by renowned architect Ole Falkentorp, and first opened in 1935. Now, after an extensive renovation, the hotel has developed a concept in which historical elements meet Art Nouveau style.

Here, original details permeate the building’s spirit and character, while the hotel’s modern character and facilities will appeal to the conscious traveller.

– We wanted to create a concept both for those who want to stay in a modern and up-to-date hotel, but also for those who want a hotel with history, soul and character. With its unique historical design concept and central location in Vesterbro close to the train station, city center and attractions, we see that the hotel will appeal to both businessmen, families, couples and weekend tourists, says Christine Ravnevand, hotel manager, Hotel Astoria.

The historical details of the hotel abound, and the first thing you come across are the original revolving doors that still stand at the main entrance. One of the hotel’s superior rooms has been carefully maintained with original details and furniture, and the hotel’s breakfast is served on porcelain, which it has been since its inception.

Housed in an impressive building overlooking Vesterbrogade, the hotel is designed to look like a steam locomotive – expressing the tech glam of the 1930s. The hotel offers 94 elegantly furnished rooms, all with large windows and some with balconies. In the inviting bar and lounge, hotel guests and Copenhageners gather for a cocktail or a cup of coffee – to experience the hotel’s elegant and exciting atmosphere.

With its central location close to shopping, restaurants, attractions and transportation options, the Astoria Hotel is a good starting point for anyone wanting a unique stay at the best address. The Norwegian hotel company CIC Hospitality is responsible for the operation, and the hotel is part of the BWH Hotel Group under the BW Signature Collection by Best Western brand.
