– I’m the happiest in the world

- I'm the happiest in the world

The Brazilian midfielder, who was revealed as a new player for Manchester United ahead of Monday’s game against Liverpool, smiles from ear to ear when asked what it’s like to sign for the club.

– There is no doubt that I am very happy. I was well received and really feel the special love that everyone has for me, and it is clearly important to me. I felt love from the first second. This is a new challenge and I’m really looking forward to it, he tells ManUtd.com.

I feel like I’m 18 or 20 again and I’m looking forward to getting started, getting to know my teammates and playing on this court. He continues: “I am very excited and very happy.”

When asked what he knows about Manchester United, he brought up a story that is probably unknown to the vast majority of people:

– I was here 15 years ago and played a championship with Sao Paulo in the Nike Cup. It will be like a movie playing in my head when I come back here. Even in my wildest dreams I would have dreamed of coming back here and playing for Manchester United. I wanted to come back here, and now that I’m here, I’m the happiest man in the world.

“I’m looking forward to performing on the pitch, helping my teammates, and helping United win games and titles,” he says.

Casemiro’s list of achievements includes, among other things, five Champions League titles and three La Liga titles. Of course, it didn’t come for free.

– I’m a player who likes to work hard. I do my best on the field – not only for the 90 minutes of the match, but also in training. And for me this is the most important thing. You play while training and for me that’s the key to winning games and prizes. Therefore, you should train as hard as possible to play your best.

In the interview conducted in Spanish, he also shares his ambitions to communicate in English with his teammates.

My wife speaks English and I have a seven-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. They speak a little better English than I do. He made it clear that I want to apologize to the United fans because I don’t speak English, but I want to study and learn the language as quickly as possible.
