On October 10, on the railway line between the cities of Durango and Silverton in the state of Colorado, USA, a train driver was alerted by a passenger who believed that she had seen something strange through the window.
On the river bank lies an injured woman in her twenties who has been missing for two days.
San Juan County Emergency Services spokeswoman Diane Gallegos said CNN That the woman was only wearing shorts and a T-shirt when she was found:
– It’s unbelievable that she survived. Gallegos says she had no food, little water – and no equipment to survive.
Following the message from the passenger, the train driver reported it to police and San Juan’s health staff.
He flew to the hospital
The woman was taken to the hospital with the help of a helicopter, as well as with the help of two conductors with a medical license.
They had to wrap the patient and move the injured walker with a rope across the Animas River. Then, she was put into a waiting helicopter and airlifted to Montrose Hospital, San Juan County Emergency Services. Facebook.
The woman must have been able to drag herself all the way to the river bank – in the hope that the passing morning train would see her.
