MTV Europe Music Awards: These are the winners tonight

The prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards took place on Sunday in Düsseldorf.

During the famous award ceremony, some of the world’s biggest artists came together to honor and pay tribute to the year’s most popular contribution.

EMA events were first held in the German capital of Berlin in 1994 as an alternative to the US MTV Video Music Awards, and have since become an annual event for the music industry.

Norwegian Sigrid (26) won the title as Best Nordic Artist During the evening distribution.

Music producer Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (31), better known as Kygo, was also nominated in the same category.

Quadruple victory

Taylor Swift (32) was the big winner of the evening when she won “Best Artist” as well as “Best Pop Music”, both “Best Video” and “Best Long Form Video” for the song “All Too Well (10 min version) (Taylor version)”.

Hip-hop queen Nicki Minaj, 39, also thanked Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Megan Thee Stallion in the “Best Hip Hop” category.

In addition to this, she also won the prestigious “Best Song” award with the 2022 movie “Super Freaky Girl”.

Despite Harry Styles’ seven (28) nominations at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, there were no wins for the British solo artist.

British Music was named Best Rock, and virtual music group Gorillaz, which recently announced their new album, Cracker Island, was named Best Alternative.

Music producer David Guetta won the “Best Electronic” award and his collaboration on “I’m Good (Blue)” with Bebe Rexah in the “Best Collaboration” category.

Biggest fan base

Perhaps unsurprisingly, BTS had a hit of winning the “Biggest Fan” award at this year’s EMAs.

In recent years, the Korean music group has achieved great success worldwide and won many prestigious awards such as “Artist of the Year” at the AMAs 2021 and iHeart Radio Award for “Best Fan Base” in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The first couple in love as presenters

During this year’s big music event, the two hosts, singer Rita Ora (31) and director and actor Taika Waititi (47), became the first couple to host the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Tonight they hosted a big award show together in Düsseldorf wearing several pairs of matching outfits.
