Musk gives Twitter a three-month severance pay - VG
Twitter headquarters are in San Francisco. About half of the company’s 7,500 employees have been laid off.

The company’s new owner, Elon Musk, says Twitter employees who lost their jobs were offered a three-month severance package.


– With regards to reducing the number of employees at Twitter, unfortunately there was no other way out as long as the company is losing more than 4 million dollars a day. Musk signed off on all those who were fired getting three months’ severance pay, which is 50 percent more than the legal minimum. Twitter Night until Saturday in Norwegian time.

Musk himself did not reveal how many were fired. But Agence France-Presse on Friday cited an email in which it emerged from an internal document that it concerned about half of Twitter’s 7,500 employees. Several US media outlets also reported on Friday that half of the employees have been notified that they are becoming redundant.

Musk also retweeted a number of messages from the company’s chief security officer, Yoel Roth. Roth states that 15 percent of his employees have been laid off, and that his employees who work in moderation are the least affected.
