Musk raises prices | Finansavisen

Elon Musks recently tweeted that he will now raise the price of Tesla’s self-driving technology: FSD – Full Autonomous Driving.

Previously, it cost North American customers $12,000 to get the technology into the car, while it will now cost $15,000 – roughly 150,000 crowns.

The change will take effect September 5, Musk says in a Twitter message.

The fact that the technology bears the name FSD has gained traction. When you turn on self-driving, the car doesn’t become self-driving – it doesn’t drive itself – but it does require constant monitoring.

Musk himself said last June that “it’s the difference between a Tesla’s worth a lot of money or nothing” if self-driving technology is improved. Tesla shares fell 3.1 percent on Wall Street today.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened several cases against Tesla over the years after accidents that had serious consequences. Tesla’s advanced driver assistance system is suspected of being a cause of accidents.
