Paul Pogba, Manchester United | Scholes against Pogba:

Paul Scholes believes the old club no longer needs Paul Pogba.

– He had several chances, and he still says that he lacks stable performance. But it’s just a lack of discipline and respect for the coach and his teammates, what he did.

That’s what former Manchester United player Paul Scholes said at BT Sports after watching Pogba play against Liverpool on Sunday.

After 45 minutes, Ole Gunnar Solskjær leveled things up for Pogba with a superb goal in the middle.

Instead, the Frenchman made things much worse for Manchester United when he lost the ball in midfield just five minutes into the second half, before Mohamed Salah scored his third goal of the day.

Ten minutes later, Pogba put the knobs on Naby Keita’s ankles, so referee Anthony Taylor had no choice but to show the 28-year-old after a VAR check. Thus, it was only 15 minutes on the field for Pogba.

Will we see Pogba in the United shirt again?

Clearly, Scholes’ brother was annoyed by Pogba’s entry.

Paul Pogba was substituted during the break to try and help the team and perhaps create some respect. Then he tries to stand on the ball, he tries to show how strong he is in midfield…and then he shoots a goal, says Scholes.

It continues:

– Then he was sent after a silly treatment. They are 5-0 down with ten guys. One has to wonder, if Ole is still the manager, if we can see Pogba in a United shirt again?

– Cause a mess

After returning from Juventus in 2016, Pogba has consistently remained incredibly versatile in performance. Next summer, the contract with United expires and so far he has the advantage of an extension.

He caused a mess in recent years. Everyone knows his talent. Everyone trusts him, every manager trusts him, Scholes says, trying to give him his head and make him the player he was.

– But with all the fuss, that he didn’t sign a new contract, he almost kept the club at ransom, and then he comes and does something like that. It’s not an initial mistake, don’t get me wrong, but this part almost summed up United’s performance today (Sunday), he continues.

Red card, Pogba’s three-match ban is now awaited in English football.

– Listen, he’ll probably play again, right? But I don’t think they would miss anything if he didn’t, says Scholes.

You have to wait a long time for the next league match

A red card means Pogba will likely have to stand for the next three Premier League games against Tottenham, Manchester City and Watford.

The Frenchman will therefore not have the chance to play a league match again in more than a month, when Chelsea awaits Stamford Bridge on November 28.

In the meantime, he may have had two Champions League matches against Atalanta and Villarreal, respectively, as long as Solskjaer wants to use it.
