The defender likely did not get playing time on loan at Aston Villa because the former Liverpool player hates Manchester United.
Manchester United-owned Axel Tuanzebe was on loan to Aston Villa earlier this season, but has recently set up a stay in Italy’s Napoli.
The defender was given less playing time than was required at Aston Villa, and thus the loan agreement there was terminated. Soon, he was ready for a new club.
After Steven Gerrard took over as Aston Villa manager, Tuanzebe had just eight minutes to go before the loan agreement was terminated.
Agent: – Rivalry revived
This makes the player’s brother and agent, Dimitri Tuanzebe, react. He believes that Gerrard is still affected by the rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool.
I have mixed feelings about Axel’s time at Aston Villa. He is loved by the fans as he contributed to the success when they played in the tournament. At the time, he was a key player who helped the club reach the Premier League, he told ESPN.
The 24-year-old has three loan spells behind him at Birmingham FC.
– But after Steven Gerrard was appointed coach there, it looked as if the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United had been revived. To avoid misunderstandings, Axel himself has been very open to staying at Aston Villa. His brother believes he loves the fans and being in Birmingham, but he has a career to look after and can only reach his full potential where he gets a fair chance to play, his brother believes.
Tuanzebe has a contract with Manchester United until the 2023 season and the club also has the option to extend the contract for another year if they wish.
Support from United
Now, however, he has the chance to win the Serie A title with Napoli. The club is fighting at the top behind Milan and Inter after half a season.
The agent claims Manchester United should have been happy to have had the opportunity there.
Manchester United have shown great support for this transfer and made sure there was something that could be positive for Axel’s future career. Dimitri Tuanzebe says Napoli did everything they could to make the move.
Axel was convinced that he would get playing time and that many players had succeeded in Napoli, although they did not spend much time playing in other clubs. Ayano: There are many success stories.
– It was so obvious
Tuanzebe is a product of Manchester United’s academy and has been at the club since 2006. He has played a total of 37 first-team matches for the Premier League side.
– Axel did not decide to leave until it was made clear that he was not the first choice for Gerrard who stopped. Naples offers were very tempting.
– He is very excited for a new chapter in his career now. He had the opportunity to move abroad and play for a team with a lot of history and fans who love football.
