Telenor Norge will change its organizational structure. This reduces the need for employees, the company writes in a press release.

200 posts will be cut due to restructuring.

– The changes we are implementing now mean having fewer managers and a flatter structure, and roles and work methods will be changed to fulfill the goals we have set, says Birgit Engebretsen. Telenor Norway in the news.

Telenor shares were up 0.5 percent on the Oslo Stock Exchange at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

– Request to victims

Telenor Norge will now have a division targeting the consumer market, regardless of mobile, broadband or TV. There will also be joint customer service. Additionally, there will be system changes in other areas, according to the news release.

– Remedial processes like these are demanding for victims. However, it is absolutely necessary to renew ourselves and create more value for customers, while protecting Telenor’s competitiveness in a challenging time characterized by high macroeconomic uncertainty, Engebretsen continues.

In addition to the job cuts, Telenor Norge will reduce the number of man-years through natural departures and a “significant reduction” in the use of consultants during the year. According to Telenor, this should result in reductions as large as permanent staff cuts.

Telenor said in a press release that permanent employees affected by the downsizing will be offered a final contract with remedial assistance.

Offer for final package in March

Cuts at Telenor come just a week after rival Telia Norway announced 70 job cuts.

In March, Telenor offered severance packages to employees in Norway.

– The offer applies to most employees at Telenor Norge AS, with the exception of certain skill groups. There are several conditions attached to this, so not everyone will be offered final packages, he said Caroline Lunde, director of communications at Telenor, told E24 in March.

Telenor has 3,300 employees in about 20 offices across Norway, according to its own website.
