Dancing on Ice is at the height of its popularity in the UK, and like the Norwegian show Skal vi danse, this is a program that many families sit in front of the TV to watch.
This year, the former “Love Island” winner, Ekin-Su Culculoglu (28), is one of the participants. The 28-year-old quickly became a popular participant on ‘Love Island’ and now works weekly to win over viewers again.
Ekin-Su sure got attention with the engagement — but it was kind of negative.
a storm of complaints
In one episode, Ekin-su throws herself onto the ice in a tight-fitting, skin-coloured outfit. Her precious parts were covered in mirrored glass and sequins.
Ekin-Su’s sparkling ice dance led to a firestorm of complaints on Ofcom broadcasting, according to several British media reports.
The revealing outfit alone is said to have caused as many as 112 complaints – and many TV viewers took to social media to vent.
One viewer wrote: “This is a family show.”
Another criticized Eken-su for wearing “incredibly inappropriate clothes”.
It’s not just criticism that comes the 28-year-old’s way. She also gets support from some viewers who claim she doesn’t get to choose what she wears.
“What do you prefer to wear? A Sunday dress?”, one expresses.
Ekin-Su also defended the outfit himself.
“If you have a nice butt and look cute in tight clothes, why not. Who cares?”.
It is not yet known if Ofcom will handle the complaints.
