On Monday 29 May, he was on set for United’s annual awards ceremony. Among the categories in which prizes were awarded was, of course, the Goal of the Season. Here, a winner is selected from both the men’s and women’s teams.
Anthony was nominated with two goals, the one against Arsenal and the one against Barcelona, but it was the latter that led him to run away with the award.
Anthony got 19% of the fan vote, but Jadon Sancho’s goal against Liverpool soon followed. Sancho received 17% of the vote.
