This is the first on Norwegian streamers

After a slightly cautious start, Mercedes has really picked up the pace with its electric vehicle project. Now they have an impressive pile of electric cars – and at the very top is the flagship EQS SUV.

The response to this car must have been tremendous in Norway. The first copy has now reached the country and has been recorded on EE plates.

This is also the only EQS SUV on the Norwegian plates to date. But that will change dramatically in the new year, when the first customer cars arrive in the country.

DIGER: The EQS SUV is 5.12 meters long, so we’re talking about one of the largest SUVs you can buy.

It will be more expensive…

The price also speaks volumes that this is the top model. Pricing for the EQS SUV starts at NOK 1,108,000, so we’re talking about the EQS 450 4Matic. The car now in Norway is the 580 4Matic. It starts at NOK 1,283,800.

In a familiar style, it quickly gets more and more interesting when you start to beautify the car. We can safely say that this applies to this copy as well. No less than 1,617,744 written on the price tag. Then you got additional equipment like 10-degree rear axle steering, Trailer Assist, AMG exterior display, and an enhanced head-up display—plus a number of equipment packages.

Dream car for families with good advice

544 hp

From the new year, there will be a significant price increase on the EQS SUV, when weight tax and value added tax will be added to the purchase price of more than NOK 500,000. The same importer estimates that a similarly equipped car will cost around NOK 1.9 million as of the end of the year.

580 means the car has no less than 544 horsepower and a whopping 858 Nm of torque. The massive car sweeps from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

Driving test in the USA

The range is also 577 kilometers. That’s an impressive number for such a large and heavy electric car. Then the battery pack also nets a full 108.4 kWh. When fast charging, it can receive up to 200 kW.

We at Broom test drove the EQS SUV for the first time back in September. Then we went to Denver in the US where Mercedes had its first test drive. “Simply a car incomparable” was our conclusion after putting the car to the test. Click here to read our full test:
