(Chelsea-Tottenham 2-0) It’s no longer possible to get the ball across the crossbar more than Hakim Ziyech (28) gave Chelsea the lead in the derby against Tottenham.
Early in the second half at Stamford Bridge, things eased in the homeowners’ favour. Callum Hudson-Odoi tried to shoot the ball but from an awkward position sent the ball to the far fans.
The Moroccan had time to shoot, and then curled in a cross to the right of Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who could do nothing but follow the path of the ball all the way there in the “most sacred”.
The shot wasn’t hard, but it was perfectly positioned. And not at least, in a very timely manner, three minutes have passed since the start of the second half.
– How good is this result? I think it was 10 out of 10. I thought I might have absorbed a lot, but then I finally got in,” the match winner happily told Sky Sports.
– I just saw it, and thought it would be gone before it had just floated up completely. It was a fantastic goal, and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel praised him when questioned by Sky Sports.
– It was a well deserved victory. It’s very difficult to create chances in front of them, but we just painted it, summed it up after the win.
Seven minutes later, Chelsea got a rather cheap free kick on the left wing, and when Mason Mount hit the first post, veteran midfielder Thiago Silva appeared and headed 2-0 in a duel with two or three Spurs defenders.
It wasn’t exciting again in the London settlement. Had Harry Kane scored with a header five minutes before the match started, some of the final minutes could have been frantic, but Kepa Arrizabalaga saved well.
The three points ensure Chelsea cement their third place in the table, and they have nine points against Manchester United – the last with two games played less.
Shocking stats at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea have beaten Tottenham four times this season. Twice in the league and in each of the League Cup semi-finals. It was Spurs’ first loss in the league under former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
It was also confirmation that Tottenham are struggling at the top against their blue rival. Chelsea have won six of their last seven league matches against Tottenham, keeping six clean sheets. Tottenham have won once in their last 32 league attempts at Stamford Bridge…
Controversial Cancel Ken
Chelsea were also the leading team in the first half, but they did not make the whole world despite the dominance.
Romelu Lukaku missed the ball when he was served six meters after just over half an hour, and the same man had a good chance before the minute was played.
But the first big talk was Kane’s “record” being canceled after 40 minutes. It was ultimately cold from seven to eight metres, but after a VAR check, Spurs were awarded a free kick for a small kick in Thiago Silva’s back just before the end.
