AI competition is causing a stir: OpenAI has lost its lead

For the first time, OpenAI's most advanced language model has been surpassed by a competitor. The name is Claude, and behind it is a spin-off from OpenAI.

The short version

The competition to create the best language model is intense. On Wednesday night, it became clear that OpenAI's GPT-4 language model had lost the lead for the first time. This happened in a well-known competition where thousands of users sort answers from different linguistic models, without realizing which model they are reading the answers from.

More than 33,000 users have now responded that Anthropic's Claude 3 Opus language model is the best. It is the engine found in the Claude chatbot, which is not yet officially available in Norway. However, it is possible to access via a VPN connection, and via services such as kagi.com and poe.com.
