Emil Alexander and his friend Morten Johan Asvang Halvorsen (18) died on the night of August 26 when a boat ran aground in the municipality of Meli in Nordland.

The 19-year-old was an “indispensable son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin,” the family wrote.

The accident affected the small municipality of Nordland.
– This is a sad event. We have lost two young people in an accident, something that affects the entire Meloy community today, Meloy Mayor Sigurd Stormo (AP) told Talkbladet.
There were 9 people in the boat when it sank in the sea. The seven escapees were charged with violating the Small Boat Act. Police later said the basis of suspicion was weak for all but the boatman.
