Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will have to contend without spearhead and Premier League top scorer Erling Braut Haaland for Thursday's key match away to Brighton.

The short version
- Erling Braut Haaland and Phil Foden will miss Manchester City's match against Brighton
- Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach, confirmed the news on Wednesday
- Manchester City is in the driver's seat in the Premier League as it competes for the title with Arsenal and Liverpool
This was stated by the Spaniard in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
“It's not a big problem, but he's not ready,” Guardiola said.
Haaland, like his colleague Phil Foden, was not present in Tuesday's training. However, Foden will be in the squad against Brighton.
The Norwegian also did not feature in this weekend's FA Cup semi-final, which ended in a 1-0 win over Chelsea. In the match before the defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League, the Norwegian was forced to come off due to injury.
Manchester City is at the top of the English Premier League and will face Brighton on Thursday evening. The Blues are four points behind Arsenal at the top of the standings, but have two games remaining on the red shirts from London. Even Liverpool are in second place, the difference is one point with one game less.
