McKenna led Ipswich to promotion

On Saturday, former United coach Kieran McKenna led his Ipswich team to the championship, when the team beat Exeter 6-0 in the penultimate round of the league.

The win ensures Ipswich drop four points off third place at the Sheffield Wednesday table, and with just one game left in the season, that top spot is therefore uncatchable.

Along with Ipswich, Plymouth is also ready for next season’s Championship matches. They are one point ahead of McKenna & co.

The top two teams from League One advance directly, while the third to sixth places must go to the playoffs.

Emad won the award

Imed Diallo was not named the Championship’s Young Player of the Season, an award he was nominated for, but the plaster on the wound is at least his Sunderland name.

Sunderland has a young squad, so it wasn’t without competition there either, but it was no surprise that the Ivorian ended up winning.

At the moment, Sunderland is in an important sixth place, and with a good end to the season it can end up in the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League.

Tottenham manager fired

Christian Stellini was sent off by Tottenham after the weekend’s embarrassing 6-1 loss at home to Newcastle United. Stellini was signed in March, following the sacking of Antonio Conte.

United will meet Tottenham already on Thursday, and then former player Ryan Mason will lead the team. The 31-year-old is taking over as manager on an interim basis.

Sunday’s performance against Newcastle was completely unacceptable. It was shocking to see, as Tottenham wrote about their team sites.

Christian leaves his current position with the coaching staff.

Ryan Mason will take over coaching duties immediately. Ryan knows the club and the players very well.
