Mette-Marit appeared in a 15-year-old’s coat during Paris Fashion Week

Although Crown Princess Mette-Marit, 49, is known for her fine sense of style, she isn’t often seen at big fashion shows. But when her dear friend, star Norwegian designer Peter Dundas, 54, premiered his latest collection in Paris last week, the crown princess was a self-described guest.

Along with model Bianca Brandolini (35), artist Avril Lavigne (38) and model and designer Camila Alves McConaughey (41), she enjoyed a final shout-out from the front row at the venerable Palais Garnier.

Dundas has left a strong mark in the global fashion industry for many years. He has worked as chief designer for fashion houses such as Emilio Pucci and Roberto Cavalli, and in 2017 he launched his own collection for the first time.

Mette-Marit is one of the many well-known names on the client list, but she has also become a very good friend.

A must for both, according to my fashion They were introduced to each other already in 2006 by designer and editor Elle Petra Middelthon (50).

Since then, they have met as often as possible both at home and abroad, and Dundas was, among other things, a guest at the Crown Prince’s annual birthday party and when the Crown Prince celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary at the palace in 2010.

The crown princess has dressed her friend’s designer clothes several times. Most recently when the new National Museum opened last year.

Then she wore a dress that was a collaborative project between her, Dundas, and Aurora Verkstedt. Today this dress has been donated to the museum, where other of the Crown Princess’s Dundas creations are also on display.

Greetings to the crown prince

But not only Mette-Marit is a fan of Peter – it’s mutual:

“Mette-Marit is always honest, positive and has an endless charm that no one can resist. These are things that I think are important and that Norway represents. Moreover, she is considered one of the most beautiful and elegant members of the royal family in Europe – if not the whole world. ( …) Happy birthday, my princess!” He wrote a tribute to Elle’s Mette-Marit for her 40th birthday in 2013.

Dundas also said he loves taking advice from his royal friend, and that he especially loves making clothes for her.

– It’s fun to make clothes for the crown princess, she has very good taste. He told Se og Hør that I love the things I do for her – it’s not always that way with all the other clients.

reuse

But although Dundas has often worn Mette-Marit, she didn’t choose his designs for the show last week. Then she showed up in a Marni coat, which is by no means the latest in fashion. I used it for the first time in 2008!
