On May 19, 2018, Prince Harry, 38, and Duchess Meghan, 41, gave each other their yes in a grand wedding ceremony at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Publicly, his brother Prince William, 41, has been Harry’s fiancé. But the controversial prince is said to have also had an “unofficial” fiancé named Jack Man.
Mann got married over the weekend, but Harry apparently left the wedding Express.
Because despite their seemingly close relationship, Mann’s big day was nowhere to be seen.
The duo met at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and served together in Iraq and Afghanistan, among others.
Harry’s much-spoken book Spear made headlines around the world for its many revelations about the royal family. But the revelation is said to have harmed more than his immediate family.
Royal expert Rebecca English believes the 38-year-old’s friends are “very hurt” and “upset” by the prince’s revelations in the book and in interviews. She says they were a tight-knit group of now-broken friends.
– it was more like a kind of omertá (a word used for secrecy among members of the Italian mafia ed. note) between them. There are people who have said, “We’ve been very loyal to him over the years and we don’t feel that loyalty has ever been repaid,” she told the Daily Mail.
The fact that Harry was not present at the wedding makes many people believe there is some truth to the claims that the group of friends are no longer close.
– We don’t know if Jack Man and Harry drifted apart, but at the end of Harry’s autobiography he writes about his “punishment” after the interview by some of his closest friends, says journalist Richard Eden.
Eden points out that many of Harry’s friends have spoken to the press over the years, which has also contributed to the uncertainty and drama in the group of friends.
