Viktor Hovland, Golf | Hovland's photos caused a stir: – I'm angry

After a crazy 2023, which ended, among other things, with an MVP award at the Ryder Cup and an overall victory at the FedEx Cup, 2024 has become a slightly different reality for the great Norwegian golf star.

22, 58 and 19. These positions follow Hovland's first three tournaments this season.

Recently, during the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, a visibly frustrated 26-year-old was seen as, among other things, he threw his club away after a less-than-good shot.

Now he speaks openly about his recent “outbursts”.

– I'm not very proud of my reactions to things in recent tournaments. I get upset when I try to hit a certain shot and I can't. Then I get really angry.

Here's what Hovland says on the podcast The Butcher's Son with Claude Harmon.

Eurosport first wrote about the case.

-When I play well and make a mistake, I also feel angry every now and then. But at the same time I think it was just a bad turn at a bad time. I know that I will probably play well in the rest of the matches and on the tour.

Despite finishing 19th, a good position, Hovland was not satisfied after the Genesis Championship.

-It doesn't give me much confidence. I don't kid myself by saying, “It was a good result.” I just think I should go home and train.

And that's exactly what Hovland did, because there was now a longer period of competition.

But next week, he'll be lined up right now to start when the Arnold Palmer Invitational begins.
