Xpeng bets billions and promises 30 new electric car models by 2027

The Chinese automaker is betting big and promises that about thirty new and/or updated electric car models will be on the list by 2027.

Xpeng has big plans to catch up with Chinese rivals Nio and BYD, according to Electric website.

3.5 billion yen, or about five billion Norwegian kroner, will be invested in artificial intelligence and driving assistance systems, among other things.

They want to boost the share of electric cars in their country, and the investment paves the way for huge investment in new electric car models.

Xpeng aims to produce 30 new electric cars by the end of 2027.

This number includes both completely new models and updates (facelifts) of previous models.

The Xpeng G9 is their latest model in the Norwegian market, and it debuted to good reviews and was named “people’s favourite” in a survey by Dagbladet, Dinside and Elbil24.
