A motorcycle has been involved in a single accident on the E18 westbound at Sandvika in Bærum.

Police in Oslo write on X/Twitter that the road will be closed until further notice.

– Operations manager Alexander Østerhaug tells VG that the first to arrive on the scene started life-saving first aid, but unfortunately could not save lives.

– Police and an ambulance rushed to the scene and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The nature of the incident is unknown at this time, but police are speaking to witnesses who witnessed the incident.

Exit E18 will be closed until further notice.

– It is closed to the west.

In an update, police write that it is too early to determine the cause of the crash.

Østerhaug tells VG that the police are carrying out investigations at the scene and will also obtain video footage.

The detour will be via Blommenholm.
