Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has had a useful first season at Anfield. Many are still hoping to see more from the Uruguay, who finished the season on the bench for Jurgen Klopp.
The 24-year-old has already scored 15 goals in all competitions, and has had several excellent appearances in the red jersey.
Lucas Leiva had a recent chat with Luis Suarez about the striker. The two Uruguayan strikers are fellow national teammates, and the old champions Liverpool know their successor well.

Opinions on Nunez appear to be divided, with many expressing satisfaction with the striker’s contribution, while others expected more from Liverpool’s second most expensive signing.

However, it was a season where we saw the best and the worst of Nunez. It was very far, when he was shown a straight red card against Crystal Palace, but also in high esteem, such as the 7-0 win over Manchester United.
Lucas thinks he needs time to adjust to life in England.

Darwin Nunez scored 6 goals in 29 matches in his first season at Benfica. The following year he finished with 26 goals in 28 matches. We’ll have to cross our fingers that the Liverpool striker could get a similar development at Anfield.
