Airline tickets: – Business class – cheaper than economy class!

Airline tickets: – Business class – cheaper than economy class!

It's nice to fly business. Expensive and delicious. or?

When we were going to check prices for a flight to Porto, we had to look a little at the only price we got: economy tickets cost 3,865 NOK, while a business class ticket on the same flight costs 2,863 NOK, just under 2,863 NOK. . A thousand pounds less.

Ticket Warnings: – No censorship

– This is one of the few travel deals you can try with airlines at the moment, says Odd Roar Lange, travel journalist and expert at DinSide and Dagbladet.

– Plane ticket prices are controlled by supply, demand and historical data. When demand from business travelers is low, you may find that the price of business tickets is lower or somewhat similar to the economy class price.

This was confirmed by aviation analyst Hans-Jürgen Elness.

– When the cheapest seats are sold out, the higher priced economy class tickets will be very close to business class tickets.

He still believes that business is rarely cheaper than the economy.

It is the final amount that matters

Although business is a bit more expensive, it is still worth booking business, depending somewhat on what you want from your airfare.

– If you take into account the advantage of being able to bring extra luggage while working, using fast track locks, access to the airport lounge, priority boarding, as well as getting free food and drink on board, there will not be much delay, says Lange.

Your luggage can get lost when traveling on holiday, both upon departure and upon arrival. It is therefore recommended that you always keep these items in your hand luggage. Video: Embla Hjort Larsen.

Even if plane tickets are called economy, plus, and business (or any variation of that), it's still a matter of packing, according to Elness.

– This is something that low-cost airlines have promoted, and major airlines have picked up, especially in economy class.

If you buy a cheap plane ticket, you will get the following: a plane ticket, and then you can add whatever you want yourself.

If you buy a package ticket, you get a ticket that includes several things, as Lange mentioned above; Baggage, fast track, seat selection, food, increased flexibility, cancellation options, etc.

Different packages are sold, with business tickets often containing all the different items, while different versions of add-on tickets often give you a choice of luggage and seat.

If the plane tickets are the same price, and you want to pay extra for some of these items, it's worth checking the price extra carefully, because with many add-ons, a cheap ticket can suddenly become more expensive than a business ticket.

– It is rapidly gaining momentum, says Elnæs.

This is how you get the cheapest tickets

Planning and overview are alpha and omega, we believe Elnæs.

– When you plan your trip, it is important to get an overview of what is available in the period in which you will travel, preferably in search engines.

Maybe it's still worth taking it a step further. When you find the cheapest option: Go directly to the airline and book the ticket there.

You should also check the total price, i.e. the price of everything you want from your flight ticket, such as baggage, seat selection or fast track, before you decide what type of ticket you want.

To find the cheapest tickets, Lange also has two additional tricks: It's helpful to look for flights late on Friday or Saturday or early on Sunday.

-If you are traveling on international holidays, you can also find business tickets at very low prices.
