On Wednesday, Anders Mol announced himself that he had broken his leg and would be sidelined for at least six weeks. He is one of Norway's great Olympic hopes in Paris this coming summer with partner Christian Sorum. The duo are Olympic champions in beach volleyball.
The injury occurred in the training camp during a match against Sweden in Tenerife on Monday.

Its reputation is a crisis
Moll told Dagbladet he was going to jump to take serve. The landing went wrong.
“I landed on my toe in a hard hole, put all my weight on it and stepped, and then I heard a crunch,” Dagbladet describes.
Although it was a pain he had never felt before, he thought it was just a move. But after consulting with doctors at the Olympic summit, he had an X-ray in Spain, where the fracture was confirmed.
– It's stupid to wait
Moll underwent surgery on Thursday for the fracture in Salzburg. The Olympic winner chose to take urgent action when the message was that he could not be operated on in Norway before April 2 due to the fact that Olympiatoppen had no orthopedic surgeons available at Easter.
– I thought it was stupid to wait, you don't have time to waste. That we were able to do it so quickly was absolutely phenomenal,” the Olympic winner said by phone from Salzburg a few hours after the operation.
It was made possible thanks to Red Bull, Mall and Sorum's partner, after the 26-year-old verified the possibilities himself. He confirms that the operation went very well. Mol confirms that the doctor in Norway is also satisfied.
He will receive follow-up in Austria on Friday before traveling to Norway on Saturday. He now has to wait six weeks with a splint on his foot before he can gradually continue training.
Easter holiday has been cancelled
Important tournaments in Mexico and Brazil and sunny Easter in Tenerife were cancelled. He had his partner Caroline Olsen with him on the flight to Salzburg via Stockholm. She barely made it to the Spanish island before breaking her foot.
Against the Russians: – Stupid
– It was a bit comical. She was going to spend the Easter holidays in Tenerife to be with us, but she didn't get much sun. “I went down the day I got injured, I was in training, and then 30 minutes and then I got injured,” Moll laughs.
-She had to cancel her entire vacation and jump on a plane. But it was nice to have her as my companion and take me around the airports.
The important months of training and tournaments for Moll and his partner Sorum will come before this summer's Olympics in Paris. The task of finding the best way back begins as soon as he returns home.
Lost mother
-We will make a plan with the team. There is still a lot of physical and technical work to be done, you have to be creative. But you lose at least two months of regular training, and we know that, even if the time horizon is still a bit blurry, he concludes.
