Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maya may have felt at peace and out of danger when she showered recently in Mexico – where she was involved in a tournament.
When Maya’s blacksmith turned off the water and was about to get out of the bathroom, a somewhat strange incident occurred.
The glass in the shower door nearly exploded right in front of her.
Haddad Maya says so on Instagram.
– The door simply opened. The 27-year-old wrote, according to the Danish newspaper, that my body was torn in several places my house.
She was rushed to hospital in Guadalajara, where several stitches were applied, including to both hands.
The injuries were so serious that Haddad Maya had to withdraw from the WTA 1000 tournament, where she was scheduled to participate.
Despite the setback, she breathes a sigh of relief after the dramatic incident.
– Ignore the fear, I’m fine. But it could have been much worse. “Now my wounds have to heal so I can get to the final part of the season,” Haddad Maya explained.
The Brazilian is ranked 15th in the world rankings, and this season she made a name for herself at the French Open, where she reached the semi-finals, BT writes.
