SØR ARENA (Nettavisen): If Sander Sjøkvist needs a summer job during the football break in the next few weeks, there are trusty Michelin-star restaurants fighting over the signature of the wing waiter.

This is not always the case.

– I worked as a bartender for a year in Sjøhuset, but I wasn’t even close to the deliveries I had on the soccer field this year. I was simply miserable. It might have been a good thing not to end up with this job, Sander Siukvist smiles for Netavien after Start won 3-0 on the last league match before the summer break.

The 24-year-old delivered his ninth goal-scoring tally of the season with the main goal for his boyhood club in the festive performance at home against Mjøndalen.

– Since the start of the season, Luke Maris and I have had a very good chemistry, he easily finds me moving forward on the field. I get good passes, and if I go past the first stop it’s always dangerous, says the right winger.

The star is amazed: – Absolutely crazy!

Where Sander Sjøkvist will probably be most attractive is in the August 1 transfer window. The fall season starts five days later in the direction of Kristiansund.

We knew Sander had a great right foot all the time, so we were able to put him in good positions where he could use it. Sander has also made great strides in his game which means he gets more chances. It would surprise me a lot if it wasn’t so attractive to top clubs with these achievements during the spring season, says Start coach Sindre Tjelmeland.

He is the coach who fears losing dangerous players in the transfer window. The starting scorer has scored the most goals of anyone in the Obos League.

Sporting director Magni Fannberg manages the logistics, but players can become attractive when we’re very good in attack. Tom Stranegaard, Zakaria Sau, Sander Schökvist and others will always attract attention, concludes Start coach Sendri Telmeland.
