Edgar Páez Cortés was president of Tigres Football Club in Colombia’s second division.
On Saturday, he was present on the field when the team lost 3-2 to Atletico de Cali.
On his way home, Baez Cortes was shot and killed. Tigres confirms this in a statement.
It is not known why the club president was killed. The police are investigating the case.

Páez Cortés was with two family members when he was killed in Bogotá. He was taken to the hospital after being shot, but his life could not be saved.
