This year marks 20 years since Australian Marie (51 years old) married into the Danish royal family. In less than two weeks, she will become queen when her husband, Crown Prince Frederick (55 years old), inherits the throne from his mother, Queen Margaret (83 years old), who is abdicating.
The latter revealed this in her New Year's speech, where she said that she would step down from her position as Queen of the country.
Interest in Crown Princess Mary has always been great, but as she now moves into her new role, it's more intense than ever. So, a hitherto relatively unknown video has been released of the 51-year-old being given new legs to walk on.
Instagram profile 'Royal Fashion Police' shared the forgotten video of Marie.
“Here's a lesser-known fun fact: Mary starred in a TV commercial for V/Line trains in 1998,” the video's profiler wrote.
There you see the Crown Princess sitting on the train with a newspaper in her hands next to two others. The lead actor smuggled an extra person onto the train.
according to Swedish women's magazine Mary worked in marketing at the time, working as an extra in advertising.
Although the Crown Princess participated in advertisements at the time, she has been very unlucky in recent years and has been subjected to abuse in several advertising campaigns.
– It is not permissible to use the royal family in advertising and marketing, which the current website will be informed of, as previously stated by the Communications Department of the Danish Royal House.
