Doctor: At least 32 killed and 53 wounded in attacks on a mosque in Kandahar

– 32 dead and 53 wounded have been taken to our hospital so far, a doctor at the central hospital in Kandahar told AFP on Friday afternoon.

The Islamic Emirate is the Taliban’s name for Afghanistan after its capture.

It is not known who was behind Friday’s attack, but the Islamic extremist group ISIS claimed responsibility earlier this month for a similar attack on a Shiite mosque in Kunduz province that killed 46 people.

The Islamic State is the sworn enemy of the Taliban and has carried out a number of other attacks since it seized power.
