I had a brutal 'welcome' to a new club: – pure hell
Earlier this week, it became clear: Eric Bothem (24) announced his move from Italian club Salernitana to Swedish club Malmo.

At the Serie A club, where he was teammates with Emil Bohinen (now on loan to Genoa), there were a total of 39 appearances for the Oslo boy. According to Transfermarkt, Bothem scored one goal and provided three assists in 35 Serie A matches during his time at the club.

Now new challenges await the former Bodo/Glimt striker, who has signed a contract until 2027 with the Swedish club.

At the time of writing, Bothheim and Malmo are in Marbella for a training camp, and on Friday, the Norwegian had his first training session with the Swedish club.

The Norwegian striker must have felt it from day one. During the first session on Friday, the players took a running test where they had to run at 100% for three to four minutes.

– That was tiring. It's probably the worst running test I've ever been to. It was pure hell, Botem tells Suede Aftonbladet. It continues:

-You have to run until you fall. “But there are rumors that I finished in the top two, so I have to be satisfied with that,” says the Norwegian.

In Malmo, which won the Swedish league title last season, Bothem will be a teammate of his compatriot Oliver Berg. According to the Swedish newspaper, only Berg can show a better time in the running test than the former Italian league player.

– This is a player we have known for a long time. He has qualities that can complement those already on the team. He is also a versatile player, the club's sporting director, Daniel Anderson, said after the signing was confirmed.
