Invited as a member of Oscar Academy

The Academy Awards are among the most prestigious film awards. Among the invitees is actress Rinat Renzvi, who has gained international attention for her role in the Oscar-nominated “The Worst Man in the World.”

– I am very proud to be invited to the Film Academy, writes Reinsve on Instagram.

Film director Sami Anna Lagla Otse, director Youngviel Kolest Hagga and cinematographer Storla Brandeth Grovlin were also invited, as the Oscar Academy wrote in press release.

Reinsve became a big name in the US when “The World’s Worst Man” was shown in a slew of movie theaters ahead of the Oscars. The film was nominated in the Best International Film category, but failed at the awards ceremony in March.

He plays in big movies

Since then, Renseve has been working a lot in the United States, where she will be directing the film “The Conservatives”, directed by Joe Talbot. Reinsve plays against, among others, Lily-Rose Depp and Hoyeon Jung, who are known from “Squid Game”.

– I’m very happy and very proud. This is a great script and a project that I am really looking forward to. Great to work with Joe Talbot, Lily-Rose Depp, Hoyeon and A24, Reinsve told VG in April about the project.

Otse is the director of the Sami International Film Institute, which provides support to Sami filmmakers. Her first job in the film industry was as a coordinator for the movie “Bázo” in 2003. She said in an interview with Screendaily last year that interest in the movie was sparked when “The Wizard” came to cinemas in 1987.

– It was the first time we saw our people and heard our language on the cinema screen. Otse said that after a hundred years of silence, it was both powerful and symbolic.

Oscar winning photographer

Kolset Haga was the director of “The World’s Worst Man” and also participated in films such as “Thelma”, “North Sea” and “Commander Treholt and the Ninja Troop”.

For his part, Brandt Groflin worked on the Oscar-winning Danish film Another Glass. He was the lead photographer for the film which won in the Best International Film category.

I never think about pricing, ticket sales, or measuring success when I’m working on a movie. Then the focus is just on working on making the movie as good as possible. It’s impossible to predict whether or not what you’re doing is something people will like, you can just follow your own taste and that of the director, the film’s photographer told NTB ahead of the Oscars in 2021.
