Swedish artist Lasse Berghagen (78 years old) has just undergone major heart surgery. She wrote that during the operation, complications arose, forcing the doctors to put the artist into an artificial coma Aftonbladet.
-I never took pregnancy for granted
Berghagen soon fell into a coma for a week, and now the family is talking about the condition of the famous artist.
– It is a critical situation for my father, her daughter, Malin Berghagen, tells the Aftonbladet newspaper.
Throughout the summer, the artist suffered from deteriorating health, and was forced to cancel his duties several times. In the interview, the girls said he had surgery last weekend.
– It was a very big operation that had to be done. During the spring, there were some health problems, and he was hospitalized several times, says his second daughter, Maria, and continues:
– The end of life was very beautiful
– When my father was last admitted to the hospital, he was feeling some kind of infection, and it turned out that there were bacteria in the flap. The valve was also bad, so he took antibiotics. After a while, doctors realized that the valve needed to be replaced. Therefore it was necessary to perform surgery.
Moreover, the daughter says that the condition is stable but critical.
-Things are going the right way, but we have no idea how things will go when he wakes up. We take it all day by day, minute by minute.
Berghagen is probably best known for songs like “Stockholm i mitt hjärta”, “En kväll i juni” and “Sträck ut din hand”.
In the 1960s, the artist was also married to Lil-Babs, or Barbro Margarita Svensson as she was actually called. Lil Babs passed away in 2018.
