New web operating system

The new QNED models have of course been updated with the latest version of the webO24 Smart TV user interface, where multiple users can create individual password-protected profiles for personalized recommendations. In some countries (US and Korea initially) you can also use your voice to recognize the user, using the remote's built-in microphone.

The latest version of WebOS has a “Dynamic Q Card” that can be sorted and provides faster access to various services in sports, gaming and entertainment. Additionally, the TVs support both Apple AirPlay and Chromecast, so you can stream content from iPhone and Android mobile phones.

Promises updates for five years

In connection with the launch, LG also announces that it promises to keep new models updated for up to five years. This means that the models will still receive software updates five years from now (from webOS24 to webOS28). This will definitely have some limitations in terms of hardware, but it will ensure that your TV stays up to date with the latest features. This service will reportedly also apply to certain 2022 models.

“The LG 2024 LG QNED TV series takes the viewing experience to a whole new level with an advanced processor that enables unparalleled audio-visual experiences across different screen sizes, while providing a personalized user experience tailored to lifestyle and preferences,” said Baek Seon-pil of LG. LG Home Entertainment in a press release. “We are committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience, drawing on our decades of webOS experience.”

LG's 2024 QNED TV models will be on display at CES 2024. We look forward to getting a closer look in Las Vegas!
