New details about Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith:

Shocking news came this week that star couple Jada Pinkett Smith (52 years old) and Will Smith (55 years old) had separated for seven years.

That means the couple were not together during last year’s much-talked-about Oscars drama, when Smith punched Chris Rock, 58, in the face on stage after making a joke about Pinkett Smith.

During last year’s Oscars, Rock attacked Pinkett Smith by saying he was looking forward to seeing a sequel to “GI Jane” — the 1997 film in which Demi Moore played a short soldier.

This did not please Smith, who famously shouted the words: “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.”

In a clip from an upcoming interview with Hoda Kotb, Pinkett Smith admits that she was surprised that Smith referred to her as “his wife.”

– I was very shocked (…). We haven’t called each other husband and wife for a long time. I just: “What happens now?” H! News.

On top of that, the 52-year-old says she became worried about Smith.

Before the divorce news arrived, there had long been rumors that the star couple would split.

In an interview with People magazine, Pinkett Smith claimed that the rumors reached Rock, who she said asked her out on a date.

But she responded by saying that the rumors were not true.

“He was horrified, apologized profusely, and that was it,” the 52-year-old says of the comedian’s alleged reaction.

The couple married in 1997 and have two children. Jaden Smith (25) and Willow Smith (22).
