Portugal will take on Romania in the sixth match of the ECI Spain T10 Championship at Montjuïc Olympic Stadium in Barcelona on November 26. With two wins from three matches, Portugal ranks second in the points table while Romania is yet to win any of its matches. So far it languishes at the bottom of the table.
Portugal played against Spain in their last encounter with Portugal winning the toss and electing to play. Spain started strongly but the fall of the first wicket led to a mini-collapse as they lost four wickets without scoring a run. However, they recovered from the same with the help of some late brilliance and scored a total of 116 runs on the board. Portugal lost an early wicket in the chase but a partnership for the second wicket decided the match for them. They won the match easily by seven wickets with four balls to spare.
Romania faced Spain in their final match with Romania winning the toss and electing to bat. The decision did not look good when they lost two wickets without making any changes on the scoreboard, but a couple of good partnerships followed by wickets changed the course of the innings. They went on to score 115 runs at the loss of five wickets. Spain came out with all guns blazing and set the tone for the chase from the start. They won the match conclusively by seven wickets with nearly two to go.
