The Rolling Stones will soon release their first studio album of newly written songs in 18 years. The album is titled “Hackney Diamonds”.
The band themselves announced the news on Monday.
Details of the new album will be revealed at an event in Hackney, North East London, on Wednesday this week. There, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Woods will be interviewed by “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon. The event will be broadcast live on YouTube at 15.30 Norwegian time. Monday’s announcement follows a mysterious campaign in which the band’s famous mouth and tongue logo was displayed on a front famous landmarks In several cities around the world, including New York, London and Paris.
A previous album of newly written material, “A Bigger Bang”, was released in 2005.
The new album will be the band’s first since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.
